Ojasi, the daughter of Gayatri and Prasanna Niphadkar, was born in Raleigh, North Carolina. She has been learning the Indian classical dance form of Bharatanatyam for over 11 years. She is a rising senior at Research Triangle High School.
Ojasi has been learning Bharatanatyam under the guidance of renowned guru Smt. Sridevi Jagannath. Through her teaching, Ojasi has learned and refined her dance technique, including new dances, movements, expressions, posture, and gestures. Practicing Bharatanatyam has taught her about discipline and hard work, and it has made her who she is. Ojasi has performed at various cultural events such as India Fest, Cary Diwali, and more in groups and solo.
Outside of dance, Ojasi participates in activities such as FRC Robotics, art, violin, volunteering, badminton, and more. Bharatanatyam is a huge part of Ojasi's life and she is excited to share her journey with you at her arangetram.
